WAM QUANZHOU, China, Apr. 18th, 2010: National Companies participating in the import-export “Canton 107″ Fair have praised the advanced organization and support provided by the Ministry of Foreign Trade to the UAE’s delegation to the fair. They also commended the logistical and technical support provided by the UAE “B2B” Events Organization firm.
These efforts all contributed to achieving positive results and the signing of many contracts and strategic partnerships between national and Chinese companies.
The Ministry of Foreign Trade’s decision to reduce the UAE Delegation’s Canton Fair participation fee by 30% yesterday, following the support it received from the Khalifa Fund for Project Development and the Chinese Hawawi Telecommunications Firm, was met with a lot of support among the participants who on their part expressed their appreciation to the Ministry for this gesture which confirmed its continued support for national companies and the importance it places on UAE firms interacting with international markets to increase global business partnerships and to strengthen national growth and development.
B2B’s director, Eissa Suwiedi, whose company is organizing the UAE’s participation at the fair under the Ministry’s supervision, added that the Ministry’s good preparation and planning ensured that the UAE’s delegation at the Chinese Fair conducted many meetings with commercial and economic Chinese entities and visited some factories.
He added that in addition to the business successes of the UAE’s participation, and the excellent opportunities that were provided to small and medium enterprises, 4 students from the UAE University and the Zayed University, who received full financial backing from the Ministry of Foreign Trade to participate in the Fair, got to participate and benefit from a real life business experience.
The students expressed their gratitude to the Ministry and said that this experience provided them with an opportunity to witness firsthand the workings of international commerce and the way UAE and international businessmen concluded deals and conducted business, and how companies perform feasibility studies and cost assessments and other pivotal practices in the field.
Eman Ahmed, a student from the Zayed University, said that she succeeded with her colleagues in securing a real investment opportunity in a small developmental project that will be executed in the UAE once they return, adding that this was the best way to put into practice all of what they had previously studied only in theory.
The UAE’s participation in the Canton Fair comes from the Ministry of Foreign Trade’s firm belief in the need to strengthen the presence of national products in Chinese Markets and to support national small and medium enterprises.
