The French Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo for 2010 will resemble the iconic and unique birdsnest venue for the 2008 Olympics held in China    Yacques Ferrier architects designed the structure.

The project is called ‘the sensual city’ and is a lattice work building to surrond a lavish french garden inside.

The French Pavilion for the Shanghai Expo 2010 is surrounded by water giving it a floating island appearance. The 6000 square meter design uses advanced building materials and eco-friendly technology including solar power via panels on the roof.

Shanghai Expo 2010 will extend along both banks of the Huangpu River between Lupu and Nanpu bridges, covering a 5.28 km² area straddling the Pudong district on the east bank and Puxi on the west.
