Huawei Gets Order from Unitech Wireless

NEW DELHI — Huawei Technologies Co.’s Indian unit has received a $150-million order from Unitech Wireless Ltd. for supplying telecom equipment, Huawei Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. Chief Executive Max Yang said Tuesday.
A second person close to the development said the deal was for five years. “It’s a managed network services model, where Huawei Technologies will install and maintain the equipment for Unitech Wireless,” the person told Dow Jones Newswires.
Unitech Wireless is the telecom unit of India’s real estate developer, Unitech Ltd.
Unitech is in the process of selling over a 67% stake in Unitech Wireless to Norway’s Telenor ASA for $1.2 billion.
Unitech spokespersons weren’t immediately available for comment.
