Exhibition Profile

Initiated in 1993, Guangzhou International Travel Fair has been held successfully for 16 sessions. Nowadays, it has grown into an important tourism event for promoting, branding and reaching business deals.

Guangzhou International Travel Fair has been recognized as one of the most important significant annual international travel fairs in the Asian-Pacific Region for its extensive influence upon the tourism industry and related industries at home and abroad.

Guangzhou International Travel Fair 2008 (GITF 2008) successfully completed on April 6 in Guangzhou Jinhan Exhibition Center. Covering a total display area of 15,025 sqm, the three-day show attracted altogether 425 exhibitors from 36 countries and regions, with 43.7% coming from abroad, including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Cuba, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Kenia, Korea, Korean Gyeonggi, Malaysia, Mauritius, Madagascar, Nepal, Philippines, Poland, Qatar, Russia, Saipan, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sril Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, U.A.E, Viet Nam, China Hong Kong, China Macao, China Taiwan and etc… High participation came from national and regional tourism boards, travel agencies, airline companies, hotel groups, tourism attraction and resorts. GITF 2008 saw an excellent turnout of 58,768 visitors from 30 countries and regions.

Meanwhile, organizers will do their utmost to invite domestic and overseas buyers as well as professionals from the major customer market, so as to meet the exhibitor’s needs that their products are better purchased and promoted. Nowadays, the whole market development in Guangzhou is the focus of the professional buyers, not only from outbound tourism but also inbound tourism. In brief, GITF is the must visit for people from tourism industry to find the latest market information and seek for business opportunities.

Guangzhou Jinhan Exhibition Center locates at the heart of the traditional central axis in Guangzhou. The Guangzhou Commodities Trade Fair is at the west side of the center. In the south, there are two five-star hotels, the China Hotel and the Dong Fang Hotel. With an airport, a railway station, bus stops and 2 entrances to the 2nd line of Guangzhou Subway, which linked the southern and northern parts of the city, in the area, it’s very convenient for accommodation and transportation. It‘s an ideal place to hold professional, public and consume-oriented fairs with high quality.
