please somebody give me an advise cus were going in hong kong next month and also part of our plan is to go to lo wu schenzen to do shopping but then again, i wonder before hand if we still require to get a visa? where can we get it here in our country of origin or we could just get it from the china border the day upon our arrival? please respond. thank you!

VISA restrictions on foreigners entering the mainland via Hong Kong as a security control during the Beijing Olympics have been eased, Shenzhen and Hong Kong officials said Friday.

“The popular ‘144-hour’ visa for groups of foreign tourists traveling into Guangdong from Hong Kong by land, which was canceled during the Olympics, resumed Oct. 16,” Yi Nengquan, vice chief of the Shenzhen Municipal Tourism Bureau, said in an exclusive interview with the Shenzhen Daily on Friday.

Under the existing visa-free visit regime, valid Philippines passport holders may visit the HKSAR without a visa for a period not exceeding 14 days. However, they must satisfy the immigration officer on arrival that they meet with the normal immigration requirements and  qualify for entry as bona fide visitors, including possession of adequate funds to cover the duration of stay without working and, unless in transit  to Mainland of China or the Macau Special Administrative Region, the  holding of onward or return tickets.
