Hong Kong kung fu star Jackie Chan says he will write songs, produce promotional films, make appearances and undertake “all kinds of work” to promote World Expo 2010 in Shanghai.
“I will spare no efforts to help the Organizer to promote Shanghai Expo across the world,” Chan said on December 31 during a visit to the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination.
“The Shanghai Expo is the most important national event after the 2008 Beijing Olympics,” Chan said. The theme “Better City, Better Life” is impressive, he said.
Chan was briefed on Expo plans, preparations and performances by Hong Hao, director-general of the Expo Bureau. He expressed hope that Chan would help promote the six-month event beginning May 1, 2010.
Chan was invited to discuss Expo performance plans by Hu Jinjun, deputy director general of the bureau who is in charge of performances.
