guangzhou:Yachts Sail on the Pearl River against the Financial Crisis
Spending on luxury goods witnesses some shrinkage on the background of world financial crisis, but the Guangzhou yacht industry is still in a stable development. The number of private yacht, which is also called “villa on the water”, is increasing in Guangzhou since last year. According to data from the Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration and some training agencies in Guangzhou, over 100 people in Guangzhou have got the driver licence for yacht and 30 of them have their own yachts, 12 years after the first private yacht turning out in the city in 1996.
Apart from for leisure and entertainment, more and more business men make the yacht their platform for business meeting. Lion 1997, the biggest yacht for rent in Guangzhou is the most popular among these merchants. The yacht could accommodate 20 people with a charge of 2500 to 3000 yuan per hour. It is a reasonable price for them.
Most of the owners of these private yachts in Guangzhou are boss of private enterprises from industries of real estate, manufacturing, design and construction of building.
