A Business District to Be Built in Huangpu District ,Guangzhou

A business district is to be built near the Yuzhu Port in Huangpu district. The District Committee of the CPC and the District Government signed an agreement on strategic cooperation on planning for the business district near Yuzhu Port with the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering of the South China University of Technology and the State Key Laboratory of Subtropical Building Science of the South China University of Technology on October 6th. In terms of the planning, the business district would be a coastal city featuring trade, tourism and entertainment.

The business district would be composed of one core district covering Yuzhu Port and Hulin Lu and three zones – the Changzhou Recreation Business District, a support industrial zone (a cluster of industrial and service companies along the port) and a support service zone located at Dashadi of Huangpu District. Within the following eight years, it will become a major project for Huangpu District to construct this business district.

Wei Weihan, Deputy Director of the Huangpu District Government and Member of the Standing Committee of the Huangpu District Committee of the CPC, said that the business district, as a major part of the commercial layout in Guangzhou, would serve enterprises in Huangpu District as well as export-oriented enterprises in Nansha District, Maichong New Port in Dongguan, the Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development District and ports in Panyu District. He added that the relevant departments in charge of port affairs like customs would set up offices to provide convenient services for enterprises, promoting trade and improving the efficiency of customs clearance.
