Guangzhou’s First Seven-star Hotel to Be Built
Jumeirah, the Dubai-based luxury hotel company, signed a contract with GT Land Holdings Limited on the construction of Guangzhou’s first seven-star luxury hotel – the Jumeirah Guangzhou Hotel – in the CBD of Zhujiang New City. Four Burj Al Arab hotel apartments would be built nearby, connected to the hotel by an “air corridor”.
Besides the Jumeirah Guangzhou Hotel, there are other luxury hotels around the West Tower and East Tower, the landmark core of the Zhujiang New City, including the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, the W Hotel, the Ritz Carlton, the Grand Hyatt and the St. Regis Hotel.
According to the blueprints by GD Land Holdings Limited, the 50-story hotel would be located near Huancheng Avenue and the central line across Zhujiang New City. Around it are four Burj Al Arab hotel apartments connected by “air corridors”. In front is the East Tower worth RMB7 billion.
Also, a square with a gross floor area of 920,000 square meters is to be built, which has been, so far, the largest commercial project in Guangzhou. GT Land plans to build a 170,000 square meter Seasons Mall for luxury brands, as well as a 110,000 square meter commercial office building with eight public elevators and eight “special” elevators reserved for CEO’s on the square composed of four lands.
“I am confident about this project. This hotel which is scheduled to come into operation in 2011 boasts remarkable features including high-speed elevators. I believe it will be one of our flagship hotels.”said Gerald Lawless, Executive Chairman of the Jumeirah Group.
